BEAR UPDATE

News on one of our bears released over 5 years ago!

This lovely female was cared for by IBBR in 2004 and 2005, and then released back in her home state of Utah. Brigham Young University graduate student, Julie Miller, has put den cameras on dens to study den-exit behavior. They named this female, Rosy Finch..., and she stuck close to her release site and has denned in the same area for the last 5 years. Her first litter of 2 cubs (1 male, 1 female) was born in 2009, and they saw both as yearlings. The cubs in these photos are her second litter (the black cub is a male named MAD IKE and the brown one is a female named Milly-Jane). We're so proud of her!
