IBBR is looking for the right person to stay long term. Bears can be held in the rehab program for as little as 4 months or as long as 16 months depending on the age, condition, and release time. We work with all the surrounding Western states to rehab orphaned or injured bears as needed. Since these bears are released back to the wild, IBBR restricts the day to day care to Sally, our part time employee, and one back up person. Please be honest during your interview as to whether your interest is short term or long term. IBBR is willing to train the right person, but it is important that the bears day to day care be handled by the same person during the duration of their stay at IBBR. This job is not for someone who isn’t sincerely interested in working with and learning from the bears in rehab. This is a great opportunity for someone wishing to develop a long term relationship with IBBR, go on the bear releases, or become a wildlife rehabilitator who doesn’t have the property or ability to do it on their own. On site housing is available for the right person who will stay long term.
Benefits: Tremendous opportunity to learn about bears! IBBR can be flexible on hours or days worked as long as the feeding schedule is met. Use of IBBR truck while on duty - pending insurance coverage approval. Opportunity to learn a lot of different skills. Housing and utilities provided for the right person.
